End of Year PBL Reflection

  • What did you learn?
I learned that you need to have...
    • Body Language
    • Loud Voice
. If you don't have a loud voice people won't be able to understand you. You need to use body language so the audience will be more involved. To me presenting by yourself is easier than presenting with others. I feel like I am doing more work so I know the material better.
    • How do you know you learned it?
If you were to ask me a question about any of the projects I would probably be able to answer it. I know that I learned because I spoke in front of a lot of people. I was able to memorize all of that. I was not looking up at the screen a lot.
    • What got in the way of your learning?

Sometimes people were not doing what they needed and that put us behind. Also, when people got into fights it made it harder to concentrate. Communication was hard sometimes because people were not paying attention and they were fighting.
    • What helped your learning?

Knowing that my final product would be good. I like to present but I don't like speaking in front of others. So the thing that helped me learn was knowing what the final project was. If I knew that I could do it and the final product would be good then I would not be as scared.
    • How did you feel about PBL?

PBL was great! I liked doing the self PBL. I liked how you got to choose whatever you want. It was great because it seemed like everybody knew their material better. PBL was fun because I liked collaborating with others. Overall, PBL was great!
    • What was your favorite project?

My favorite project was the tarantula project. I never really liked tarantulas so doing that project made me like them! I was on the good side and it was hard to find facts about why they are good. Nobody really likes tarantulas so that's why I chose the good side. Most of the facts were opinions.
    • Why was it your favorite project?

The tarantula was my was my favorite project because I was able to learn more about my fear. Tarantulas have always been scary to me so learning more about them made me like them. I like to hold them and I love seeing them everyday. I liked how all of the middles-schoolers did a project together.
    • How will you use what you learned this year to help you with next year’s project work?
If we do a project related to one of the projects we have done it could help me. If I were to do a project on matter and energy transformations or something related to it I would already know some facts so it could help me.
Also, if for some reason I would have to present the project again I probably could do it. It might be a little bit hard but I could still do it because I will always remember the knowledge I learned from the project.
